Report
Chirnside failed in their bid to win a fourth trophy of the season following defeat in the Beveridge Cup Final to Leithen Rovers.
Chirnside started the stronger team and had Leithen pinned back for the first 10 minutes of the game. The men in green then went 1 nil up when Ponder was brought down outside the box by the last man who was lucky not to get a red card. From here Turner took over and curled a trademark freekick round the wall and into the net. Turner then should have made it two when a good ball from Hume found Turner at the back post by the normally clinical striker missed the target from close range. Leithen then started to come into the game and were unlucky not to equalise but their striker also missed from close range.

The second half began with Leithen coming powering out the blocks. They got there rewards for their early pressure when Lugget dropped the ball out of play for a corner, and from the resulting set piece Hume headed past Lugget to score an o.g. Leithen continued to press for another but some good defending and goalkeeping kept the scores level. Chirnside then made a substitution introducing student Windram for Turner and with immediate impact he restored Chirnside lead when he buried the ball in the back of the net after a cross from Lauder. Chirnside then had a great chance to seal victory but Lauder squandered two good chances when one on one with keeper. To Leithen Rovers credit they pushed for an equaliser and got one when a cross from the right found the unmarked left winger at the back post to head home. Then with only a few minutes left Leithen scored again when Ponder seemed to be fouled but nothing was given and from the resulting cross Leithen got the winner.
