Report
Chirnside slipped up in their quest for the league title to Hawick Legion at Comrades Park on Tuesday night.
The away team were up for it from the start looking to avenge their defeat in the South Cup Final a week earlier. It was no surprise that they took the lead after 15 minutes when a corner was only partially cleared and the Left Winger drove the ball home giving Luggett no chance.
Chirnside were given a lifeline on the half hour mark when the Hawick keeper picked up a back pass. Windram laid the ball to Turner and he made no mistake from 12 yards hitting the top right hand corner of the net.
It wasn't long before Chirnside added number two when Shennan capitalised on a defensive error to score. Shennan added his second and Chirnside's third five minutes before half time when he slotted home a Turner cross.
The second half was all one way traffic with the home team missing chance after chance. Shennan and Windram both missed a few one on one opportunities each. Turner and Ponder also both squandered chances when it looked easier to score.
They were punished for this when Legion scored their second with 15 minutes to go and Chirnside's misery was complete with five minutes remaining when the Hawick Central Midfielder drove home a right foot shot for the equaliser.
