Report
Chirnside were looking to build on their recent run of victories with a home game against West Barns on Saturday.
The away team kicked off into the wind in the first half and had a chance within five minutes to take the lead but the shot from their right winger just drifted wide of Lugget's left hand post. Chirnside then thought they had scored after a Turner shot from an indirect free-kick was parried into the net by the the former Colts keeper Todd, but the referee adjudged he was behind the line before he touched the ball.
The opening goal however was not long in coming when Turner scored from 10 yards to give him his fifth goal in two games. The home team began to pile on the pressure with the wind at their backs and Morrison stabbed home number two following a Young corner from the right.
West Barns thought they had pulled one back on the half hour mark but Luggett brilliantly tipped over a shot from 20 yards. Moments later the same player fired a shot which came back off the post. The home team were then awarded another corner this time take by Ponder and Christie timed his run into the box to perfection bulleting his header past Todd from eight yards.
The second half kicked off and again it was Chirnside who were causing most of the bother without really threatening the away goal. Windram came on for Turner on the hour mark and five minutes later Chirnside had added number four. A good run and cross by Shennan down the right was met by Ponder to slot home number four.
Chirnside could have added to their lead but poor final balls and finishing let them down. West Barns misery was complete five minutes from time when their Midfielder was sent off after a wild two footed lunge on Shennan.
