Report
Chirnside went on a goal scoring spree knocking 11 past bottom club Ancrum on Saturday.
Kicking off in blustery conditions it was the home side who nearly took the lead following a defensive error the number 9 ran through on goal but his blasted shot sailed way over the bar. The away team took the lead on the quarter hour mark when Turner smashed the ball past the helpless Ancrum keeper. Number two arrived soon after when Windram beat the keeper at his near post. After that Turner should have added his second but with only the Defender to beat on the line his shot came back off the bar. Chirnside added number four just before the break when Turner completed his hat-trick after he shot home from close range.
Five minutes into the second half Chirnside lost Johnston through injury and on came veteran Chris Cowe in his place. The sleety conditions seemed to suit the away team and they added number five when Shennan finished a flowing move that started down the right. Number six wasn't long in coming and McKinnon volleyed home his first of the day. Further goals were added by Windram (3), Turner and Shennan as the home team struggled to contain the Chirnside firepower.
Midfielder Jack Windram said: 'We played well today in difficult conditions. I was happy with my own performance but i think the whole team done well and the result has done our goall difference a lot of good.
