Report
Chirnside travelled to West Barns to play them for the 4th time in five weeks. The game started pretty evenly with neither side having any real chances in th first 15 mins. Chirnside however were first to score when good work by Shennan saw him square the ball for G.Kelly who in turn laid it off for Bolton to unleash a beast of a shot from the corner of the 18 yard box into the stanchion of the goal to put the away side 1 up.
Chirnside were now on top and Shennan increased the lead after a mix up in the Barns defence allowed the striker to scuff the ball home. West Barns then scored after a quick counter attack to make it 2-1 at half time.
West Barns started the second half and were immediately on the attack and there pressure paid off when the equaliser arrived courtesy of the penalty spot. Chirnside then saw a couple of chances go a begging when Shennan twice blasted over the bar. Chirnside then tool the lead agian when Ponder mis-kicked a corner which decieved everybody and trundled into the net at the Barns near post. However West Barns replied with an equaliser immediately when the midfielder managed to lift the ball over the on rushing Lugget.
With the game even it was West Barns who were pushing for the winner and were unlucky not score on two occasions. Then against the run of play Chirnside took the lead when a Shennan cross was flicked on by Cowe to Bolton at the back post who headered it high into the roof of the net to seal the win.
