Chirnside managed to win their first league game since December on a muggy night at Comrades Park. It was West Barns however that started the more brightly and had Chirnside on the back foot for the first ten nimutes, it was only some good keeping by Lugget and the woodwork that kept the East Lothian team at bay.

After the initial ten minutes Chirnside started to come into it and on the 20 minute mark were awarded a free kick 25 yards from goal which M.Bolton delightfully curled over the wall into the roof of the net to give Chirnside the lead. Chirnside now had control of the game and were passing the ball about well and after a good move that resulted in Ponder being scythed down in the box on the 30 minute mark and a penalty being awarded which Boton blasted home. Chirnside then seen out the final 15 minutes of the half to go in 2-0 up at half time.

The second half began began in much the same fashion as the first with West Barns putting the Chirnside backline under pressure from the off. There pressure was rewarded when on the 50 minute mark they pulled a goal back after a goal mouth scramble. West Barns were then unlucky not to equalise but some good saves by Lugget kept the one goal advantage for the home side.

Chirnside then came back into the game and manged to score the again only for it to be chalked off for offside. The home side finally restored their two goal cushion when Shennan dribbled into the box scored from close range. Chirniside soon nade it 4 - 1 when Morrison played Shennan down the line where he was able to lay the ball of to G.Kelly for the big striker to score after his recent goal drought. Chirnside then completed the scoring when Shennan again dribbled into the area and blasted the ball past the keeper at his near post.

Chirnside will now play Stow away this Saturday before playing West Barns away the following Tuesday.
