CHIRNSIDE FOOTBALL CLUB - COLTS PLAYERS & MANAGEMENT

The Chirnside Colts management for the season are :

Paul Johnson | Player / Manager

Paul is now the player/manager of the Colts after being involved with Chirnside for a few years. Paul brings some much needed experience to the Colts backline and is a good influence in the dressing room. He can cause havoc when the sun is out due to the glare from his ever receding hairline.

Stuart Wilson | Coach

Big Stu was drafted in by Paul to help out on the touchline, and his arrival has coincided with an upturn in results. Always one to be vocal, he has certainly made an impact on the sideline and in the changing room.

Sufi Omari | Coach

Persuaded to come out of retirement by Paul, Sufi, as always, has been a safe pair of hands. Has now called it a day after he lost his dummy, but he still travels with the squad and is a big help on the touchline.

The Chirnside Colts players for the season are :

Mark Walters | Goalkeeper

Walters is one of the best goalkeepers in the Borders and also one of the most reliable. Brought in when Sufi called it a day, he has saved the Colts on a few occasions with his shot stopping. His burly frame make him a nightmare for strikers and pub landlords alike.

Martin Todd | Goalkeeper / Defender

Stanton has been a goalkeeper for years but he has ventured out to right back on a few occasions this season due to Sufi returning and has been solid. His questionable beard and lime green RS make him an easy target for police, and the competition to collect the most ASBOs with Blaikie is neck and neck.

Liam Renton | Defender

Brady was named captain this season, which is probably because of his intelligence and good looks rather than his footballing ability. Always gives 100% in games and in training, and has been a regular at right back, although he has also filled in at centre half and left back when needed.

Ryan Blaikie | Defender

After an absence of 2 years, Ryan is now back at the heart of the Colts defence. Despite having a glass ankle, he is a strong and pacy centre half. His other hobbies include terrorising the village while in his car and collecting ASBOs.

Graham Paterson | Defender

Graham is the style icon in the dressing room, with his tights making him the envy of Chirnside. Rumour has it that he must eat a big meal before training and a game, which probably explains his sturdy base. Strong in the tackle and good on the ball, Graham is one of a number of promising youngsters in the Colts side.

Ryan Purves | Defender / Midfielder

Also known as Tank and Osama Bin Laden. Podge is a committed player and enjoys a big tackle, which often brings threats from opposition players and managers alike. He is Mary's arch nemesis, as his flying challenges always leave his strip caked in mud.

Colin Donaldson | Midfielder

Colin is one of the quickest players at the club, and this pace makes him a threat when played wide or through the middle (when he decides to use it!). He bears an uncanny resemblance to Screech from Saved By The Bell with his afro.

Mark Brown | Midfielder

Mark is notorious for his cheating at training, and his not so witty remarks in the dressing room. A tricky wide player with a good dribbling ability, his defensive qualities continue to frustrate. It is still unknown whether he knows what "goal side" means yet.

David Foster | Midfielder

A bright and bubbly character, Foss is always up for a laugh. He is a reliable squad player and can always be called upon when needed. His claim to fame is skinning Davie Lough for pace in setting up an equaliser at Eyemouth, which he never mentions...

Mark Bolton | Midfielder / Striker

Boltie typifies the laid back Chirnside attitude, and rarely turns up more than half an hour before a game. He has a great touch and the ability to produce a bit of magic, with the expectation seemingly weighing him down as he retires every Saturday night after the game.

Gary Logan | Midfielder

The Colts answer to Stevie Gerrard, the Beast can be relied upon to grab a game by the scruff of the neck and turn a game on its head. He is a threat in the air due to his unusually large head and extra spring he gets from his third leg.

Lee Hannan | Midfielder

When he isn't running from the long arm of the law, Lee also likes to play football. His composure on the ball defies his young age, and has performed well in his outings for the Colts this season.

Paul Blacklock | Midfielder

After spending a couple of years at Greenlaw, Crazy Legs is back and his dressing room banter has been missed. Cocky will run all day and covers every blade of grass on the pitch, literally. He still doesnt know his left from his right, as his shooting suggests that his boots are always on the wrong feet.

Tony Gleadow | Striker

Tony joined the ever growing Eyemouth contingent at the Colts this season, and he brings hard work and endeavour to the team. He has been played wide and as a striker, and he never lets the team down.

Dan Romaines | Striker

After a brief spell with the first team, Dan is back with the Colts. His never say die attitude and work ethic make him a key performer and he likes to make himself heard, as those who witnessed his infamous speech in the Red Lion a couple of seasons back will testify.

John Crawford | Striker

Coco brings a wealth of experience to the Colts frontline, and he bangs the goals in on a regular basis. He is a good addition to the team, although "Hanlon" might disagree. He is still waiting on that pass.
